CHENNAI: PMK leader and Dharmapuri MP
Anbumani Ramadoss commenced a motorcycle journey from Hogenakkal on Friday to spread awareness on the need for the Centre to set up a
Cauvery management board - a permanent mechanism to resolve inter-state water sharing dispute.
Anbumani told reporters at Nagamarai in Dharmapuri district that this journey was not against the
Tamil Nadu government.
It was meant to create awareness among people, he said.
He said the state government should urge the Centre to set up the Cauvery board. Tamil Nadu should oppose Karnataka's Mekedatu dam project, he added.
The campaign will end at Poompuhar in Nagapattinam district after covering around 325 kms.
